Barnala: Congress candidate Kuldeep Singh Dhillon has won from the Barnala assembly seat in Punjab. Polling was held on November 20 for four assembly seats in Punjab, including Barnala. The counting of votes for these seats stating at 8 am today. There was a triangular contest between the candidates of BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party. There was a contest between Aam Aadmi Party’s Harinder Singh Dhaliwal, Congress candidate Kuldeep Singh Dhillon and BJP candidate Kewal Singh Dhillon.
Now, there is a festive atmosphere at the house of Congress candidate Kuldeep Singh Kala Dhillon, who won the Barnala assembly by-election, his supporters are celebrating by bursting crackers and fireworks.
How many votes did Kuldeep Singh Dhillon win
Kuldeep Singh Kala Dhillon of Congress got 28254 votes. While Aam Aadmi Party candidate Harinder Singh Dhaliwal got 26097 votes. Thus, Kuldeep got 2157 votes more than Harinder Dhaliwal. While BJP’s Kewal Singh Dhillon got 17958 votes.
What was the political equation like on the Barnala seat
It is worth noting that a total of 20 candidates filed nominations from Barnala, out of which only 15 candidates’ nominations were recognized. The nominations of four candidates were rejected, while on the other hand, one candidate withdrew his papers.
Harinder Singh Dhaliwal was the candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Aam Aadmi Party Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Meet Hayer won the Lok Sabha seat from this constituency.
If we talk about the Congress, then Kuldeep Singh Dhillon Barnala was fielded in Barnala. The BJP fielded Kewal Singh Dhillon for the Barnala Vidhan Sabha by-election.
